Job Overview
We are in search of a committed and knowledgeable MDS Nurse to join our dynamic team in a full-time remote position. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to enhance the quality of care across various Skilled Nursing Facilities. This position offers you the chance to concentrate exclusively on MDS-related functions, ensuring optimal results in Case Mix, PDPM, and Quality Measure management, all while enjoying the absence of on-call responsibilities and additional facility demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, finalize, and submit essential OBRA and Medicare MDS assessments, ensuring compliance with all deadlines.
- Develop, review, and adjust resident-specific care plans collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, aligned with MDS assessments and RAI Guidelines.
- Engage actively in crucial meetings, both in person and remotely, including morning meetings, Case Mix reviews, and Quality Measure discussions.
- Provide interim MDS completion services as necessary, with a focus on accurate scheduling and submission in accordance with RAI Guidelines.
- Conduct technical audits with an emphasis on reimbursement precision, Case Mix Management, Quality Measure Management, and MDS accuracy evaluations.
- Stay informed about clinical and regulatory standards, including Federal Survey Requirements and CMS Requirements of Participation.
- Exhibit sound judgment and ethical guidance to uphold best practices within Skilled Nursing Facilities.
- Assist the Senior Practice Manager and Director of Clinical Consulting as needed.
- Be familiar with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, including Point Click Care and Matrix Care.
- Uphold and promote the organization’s mission, vision, and core values while exercising sound judgment in all tasks.
- Participate in special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
- Must hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
- A minimum of two years of experience in MDS completion within a Skilled Nursing Facility is required.
- AAPACN Resident Assessment Coordinator Certification (RAC-CT) is preferred.
- Intermediate knowledge of SNF Reimbursement and Billing Regulations, including RAI guidelines and PDPM Reimbursement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
